Legendary arcade operator and parts dealer helps Dallas youth centerA few days ago, this column asked the gaming community for help gathering arcade parts and game consoles to prepare Dallas youth center Youth World prepare for it's summer season. Legendary arcade parts supplier Bob Roberts of Gretna, LA has stepped up with the first donations to the cause. A retired arcade operator, Roberts and his wife Alice have been popular with the arcade community for a number of years as suppliers of oft-difficult to locate parts for classic arcade titles such as Pac-Man. Mr. Roberts has now donated the majority of the needed parts to repair the three arcade games donated to the youth center, including the four joysticks, microswitches, and G07 monitor rebuild kit. The work on these machines is being done free of charge by the author of this column. Remaining items needed: * Three 15amp switching power supplies (arcade style) * Wells Gardner K7000 series 19" monitor chassis * Gaming consoles such as the XBox 360 and age appropriate game titles To check out the original article and see what all Youth World does to help at-risk children in Dallas, check out the original article.
